Taking Simpson at 3 would be a huge reach. He has prototypical size- but what has he done on the field to even deserve a first round grade? Let alone 3.

Give me a blue chipper in Oline or edge rusher and win ugly next year any day over way reaching for a potential bust

Take him in the 2nd, tops. 2nd round QBs fail and are easy to move on from. If they succeed, great! Nice problem to have.

If there was a blue chipper OLine in this draft, I would agree with you.

Aren’t there 2 of them? Pretty sure Fano and Mauigoa have been reported to be elite tackle talents
Don't think elite but very good and fit the RT spot from my understanding and that is what we need. This draft is MEH which as always will still get lipstick put on the proverbial pig as the draft approaches

I'm roughly on board with him. I've argued elsewhere that he'd be a more palatable pick if we hadn't lucked into a top-3 pick, and were picking 5-7. But, unless we can move back with some kind of guarantee... I might take the risk.

I haven't been less certain about a class in a long time. But if you're telling me that my QB options are Brissett, Willis, or a very late flier, I'm probably gambling on Simpson if he looks good at the Combine or in workouts.

Fano or Mauigoa don't spark intense excitement in me either.

I could make an argument for Love, but it's probably the worst way to build a team. But where else is the excitement or top level talent?

If Simpson's the pick in April, I'll be okay with it.
