When the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett, they likely became the team to beat in the NFC.
Adding arguably the NFL's best player is usually enough to shift the conference hierarchy, even when the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks still exist.
But landing Garrett wasn't cheap, and if the Dallas Cowboys hope to pull off a similar blockbuster for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, that won't be, either.
105.3 The Fan's Bryan Broaddus, after talking with people around the league, revealed Crosby could potentially be had for either George Pickens and a 2027 third-rounder or a 2027 first-rounder and a 2028 third-rounder.
Now ... let's revisit what the Rams gave up for Garrett. To acquire the single-season-sack record-holder, LA sent Jared Verse, a 2027 first-rounder, a 2028 second-rounder and a 2029 third-rounder.

Crosby's price should be significantly lower. He's coming off a major knee injury and, while he's one of the NFL's premier pass rushers, he isn't Garrett. That's not a knock on Crosby as much as it's an acknowledgment of Garrett's place in the league.
So it cost the Rams a premium first-round draft choice, a pair of day-two picks in consecutive seasons and a young, high-potential player at Garrett's position to get the deal done.
The Cowboys aren't trading Pickens, even if it got them Crosby. But would they part with another young contributor in the same way LA did to lower the cost?
Instead of leaving that question as rhetorical, we'll ask you directly, dear reader:
If Dallas was guaranteed to acquire Crosby, but it took a conditional 2027 first-rounder and Donovan Ezeiruaku as a "sweetener,'' would you be comfortable with that?
Ezeiruaku has an extremely bright future ahead of him. His pressure numbers as a rookie were strong, and now, under first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker, they could translate to sacks in 2026.

With Ezeiruaku, we're projecting what he may become ... but with Crosby, we know what he is.
Crosby has produced double-digit sacks in three of his last four seasons and, when healthy, is one of the greatest disruptors in the sport. There's a reason the Baltimore Ravens were keen on giving up two first-rounders for him before discovering something alarming during his physical.
Considering all the "Super Bowl" talk permeating Cowboys training camp, a blockbuster trade for Crosby would further justify those conversations.
But would Dallas part with a young stud to bolster its odds of ending a 30-year NFC Championship game drought?
Jerry Jones did say he'd be "very interested" in sacrificing the future to acquire a "substantive" player.
Donovan Ezeiruaku certainly qualifies as part of Dallas' future.
Maxx Crosby certainly qualifies as a substantive player.
The Cowboys have already told us they're willing to ask the question.
Now the only one left is whether they're willing to answer it.
