Green has a lot to prove this year. If Suns are a winning team and he is efficient 20+ ppg that's a start.
You can't have Book at 25 ppg. Brooks at 20 ppg. Bridges at 18 ppg. and Green at 20 ppg. Not with the rest of this roster that will score as well. There are just not enough scoring opportunities to go around.

Tell that to Philadelphia.

I think there's lots of opportunitities. Just what percentage rate do they cash those in at? ;)

Ideally, it would be Booker at 25+, Green off the bench averaging 16 or so, bridges about the same, Brooks only shooting when he’s open (no more dribble adventures).

But I think Booker is going to be the one to sacrifice his attempts because the other guys are not facilitators.

The only thing I will say about Brooks, was some games our guys were just not aggressive scoring. He would force the action in games when all our guys were just continuously playing hot potato with the ball.

He’s never been an all star.

I don’t think his value is even remotely close to where you’re putting it.

My bad, I thought he was an All-star for some reason.

Regardless of whether he was he os on the cusp of being one. He's not in the same tier as most other All-star SG's like Book, Mitchell, Ant, and Harden. He is in the same tier as guys like Garland, Maxey, or Lamelo.

He has work to do before he gets there because guard is really deep.

He’s not close to those guys either. They’re either high level efficient scorers or playmakers. Green is a low efficient scorer with no playmaking ability. He’s 11th in VORP from his own draft class. I do think he could be valuable in a 6th man role but we’ll see if Ott has the backbone for it.

i don't think anyone would blink an eye if jalen green dropped 70 pts in a game - the kid's just a natural scorer but what if he dropped 10 dimes?

book used to be one dimensional in this aspect as well - he could've been devin buckets but his game evolved into point book - now he does it all - but what would jalen's game look like if he got his teammates more involved?

if jalen starts dishing i think he could become a ja morant type without the dramatics - clips or automatics

that's a big IF but IF jalen green wants that max money he needs to learn what book learned - that sharing is caring - that caring and putting the team first is how you win - simply put jalen green needs to get book smart
Green is still young and without attitude problem the Morant's have. I trust Ott to bring out the best from him next season. From the talent and state of development point of view, he is the next likely prospect after Book to reach the allstar level, far ahead of Maluach and Peat on the current roster. We ought to be a little patient with him.

I said he was in the same tier as questionable All-stars. I wasn't trying to compare their games across the board. They aren't locks to be selected as it depends on how their team is playing.

You and I are miles apart here.

I think he's far close to Kelly Oubre.

If he is a major factor in your offense then your team's offense is probably pretty bad.

If he had not played a single game for us last year, I think we win more games and the lack of offensive cohesion in the latter parts doesn't happen.

I hope he evolves, I hope he learns to play without the ball in his hands and to play quicker (as in, his decisions) but that he's not really shown any real growth his first 4 years does not inspire me.

I agree. Hopefully Brooks can dial back on his scoring. As mentioned, he had to be aggressive at times last year without Booker and Green. I think Booker and Green should be 20+ and then Bridges and Brooks in high teens.

He did it when Book and others were out. You could see it on Dillon's face and hear it the post-game interviews. He would go into some games as the #1 scoring option in his own mind--maybe Ott's as well.

It was a role he needed to fill in the moment, but it is not who he really is.

I think he had a logical mindset in those games. The thing you wonder, is we had better scores and shooters, so why didn't ANY of them step up? For the crap Book gets, he does give us the volume of scoring needed on a team whose scorers and shooters are many times reluctant to shoot. Especially in games when he's out. You expect them to score more, and they would just have their regular games at best, not taking up the scoring slack. You need guys who can ramp it up like Brooks, when needed.

Agreed. I hope it doesn't happen again this year. If Kennard doesn't increase the volume on his 3's, his fantastic percentage is pointless.

There are plenty of areas that Miles Bridges will help the Suns improve. In addition to his underrated playmaking vision out of cuts and the short-roll, I'd anticipate him taking advantage of mismatches.

Bridges ranked in the 86th percentile on post-ups last season, finishing 61% of his looks.

In fact: Bridges' post-up numbers were pretty similar to Kawhi Leonard's last year in terms of efficiency, volume, and turnover rate out of the post.

i wouldn't be surprised if we extended miles before the season starts - we didn't trade grayson oneale and an unprotected draft pick to watch miles walk in free agency - sounds like ish is locked in on locking guys in - don't be shocked is all i'm saying

This sounds right but I'm thinking the Suns plan on doing trades when the right opportunities arise. They can't afford everybody long term.

I guess it's a question of price. Brooks signed for about the same for Powell, as true established 2nd-tier star on their teams. MB right now is comparable with Wiggins, Hachimura, Collins, Harris, but slightly better. For this year's market, it's fair for an extention offer with avg of 18-19m per year. If MB believes in himself and the roster, he might choose to play out this contract and test the market next off season.

They can afford them but that leaves no room to improve the roster. Virtually everyone is locked in for the next 2-3 seasons except Miles and Jalen. Even those 2 can be retained for close to the same salary they're on without issue.

If you can afford them, then all fifteen spots are full. The only way to improve would be via trade. I am for letting Green play this season out, and then he's expiring next season. I listen to so many Suns podcasts, but they were making the point you don't trade the 2030 pick and not extend Bridges. They were saying it's a lock they extend him. I noticed that Josh Bartelstein was very non comittal on the Burns and Gambo show when Dave Burns said, why don't you wait and see how Brides fits before extending him? Wouldn't surprise me they don't do it soon.

I haven't looked at all the calculations but I know the Suns value assets.

It's likely there will be trades to recoup assets if the youngsters improve.

They seem more interested in spending assets than using them. Even when we have picks we trade them to move up. See Koa and Fleming. We've spent picks dumping Nurkic, acquiring Richards, acquiring Bridges, and trading Royce & Grayson. We'll continue to get future 1s and 2s each year as they're unlocked 7 years out also.
