Jun. 19—SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Roosevelt senior Kinsley Pesicka was honored as the South Dakota Gatorade girls soccer player of the year

Pesicka, a 5-foot-3 senior midfielder/forward, scored 18 goals and offered 17 assists in 14 games during the fall 2025 season for the Rough Riders, who compiled a 9-2-3 record and reached the Class AA state quarterfinals.

"From the moment Kinsley stepped onto the field as a freshman, she made an immediate impact," said Roosevelt head coach Cori Bonte in the award release. "As a senior, she elevated her play even further, leading the state in scoring."

In addition to the Gatorade award, Pesicka was named the state player of the year and an all-Northwest Region performer by the United Soccer Coaches. The two-time Class AA all-state honoree finished her high school career with 33 goals and 25 assists to her credit.

Off the pitch, Pesicka was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Roosevelt, maintaining a weighted 4.18 GPA in the classroom as a member of the Roosevelt High National Honor Society. She also volunteered locally with the school's Best Buddies program, the Cancer Awareness Club, Feeding South Dakota and as a youth soccer coach.

Pesicka will continue her soccer and academic careers at the University of South Dakota this fall.
