Senators' Stuart Skinner trade rumor would continue goalie movement originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Stuart Skinner was traded pretty recently from the Edmonton Oilers to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Sounds like another trade could be coming, based on the latest rumors involving the Ottawa Senators.

This development comes from Kevin Weeks of ESPN, who posted this on X on Tuesday:

Per sources, some nuggets for you fans ;
I’m told G Cossa could be on the move with @utahmammoth among the interested clubs. F Berard also could be on move from @NYRangers . G Skinner among options for @Senators . #HockeyXpic.twitter.com/TilGNbAprm

MORE: Dylan Larkin's trade request points out a major NHL flaw

Skinner is still just 27 years old and could still have a bright NHL future if he can find a bit of a groove.

There's also a chance, though, that he's shown everything that he is.

As it stands, Skinner is a borderline starter in net, and that's not overly exciting to deal for.

Skinner had a 23-17-9 record overall in 2025-26, and his stats were very similar between the Oilers and the Penguins.

Combined, he had an 88.8 save percentage and a 2.92 goals against average.

Skinner's career numbers are both better than that, so maybe there's hope for improvement.

Ottawa could use the increased goalie potential, so maybe the Senators do end up finding a way to make this happen.
