Almost all would say left tackle is most important. What is next?

My immediate thought was RT, but went with Center because they are responsible for directing/changing the blocking calls for the entire line. RT probably has a higher direct likelihood of getting the QB killed, but Center is probably more important to having a strong overall line.

I chose OC but that is for the Cards because of KM. RT is 2nd most important for most teams.

A huge gap

.
Center
Guards

This is reflected in the pay of both tackle positions

Pay doesn't necessarily indicate the importance of the player on a team. You could argue that your kicker is a top 3-5 position on a team, and is paid no where near that.

You could argue this, but you'd be extremely wrong and it'd be a difficult assertion to support.
A good kicker can win you 2-4 games a year. A bad one can lose it.

Not really. Not additional games. The difference between a really good kicker and a league-average one is extremely marginal.
Exactly. THAT is what determines the pay.

It doesn't mean that kickers aren't extremely important.

I agree with the first point.

The idea that NFL salaries are a free market is hilarious.

Its a free market in that teams decide who they want to sign and how much they will pay, and are in direct competition with other teams doing the same.

Free market principles still apply.

I've entered an alternative universe where centers, who can spend half their time uncovered with help either side are more important because they have to call the Mike and possibly slide protection than right tackles who face the best pass rushers head up every snap with no outside help and often no inside.

This is an ASFN low. It's RT and literally everyone in football from the locker room assistant to Goodell will say so.
