A former Georgia Bulldog linebacker is coming to his hometown state. Free agent linebacker Azeez Ojulari has signed with the Atlanta Falcons on a one-year deal, according to Tom Pelissero. The financial details haven't been revealed yet.
Ojulari joins former Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall on the Falcons. Atlanta signed two former Georgia players, along with Houston Texans linebacker Christian Harris, to replace several free agents in the linebacker core. Impact starter Kaden Elliss departed for the New Orleans Saints, and Arnold Ebikete is a free agent as well. The situation regarding James Pearce Jr.'s major off-the-field incident has yet to be resolved, either. If Pearce Jr. is suspended, then that could mean even more playing time for Ojulari along with second-year edge rusher Jalon Walker.
The 25-year-old linebacker was on the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 NFL season, along with several other Georgia Bulldogs including Nakobe Dean, Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter and, Jordan Davis. Unfortunately, Ojulari was lost in the shuffle. He played in just three games before suffering a hamstring injury. He was placed on season-ending IR on Nov. 1st, 2025.
Ojulari will look to regain his form from when he was with the New York Giants. During his rookie season in 2021, he earned 49 combined tackles, eight tackles for loss, and eight sacks. He hasn't reached those numbers, but in 2024, his last year with the Giants, he had 28 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and six sacks. Health is a key factor for Ojulari, who has not played in over 11 games in a season since his rookie campaign.
