The Seattle Mariners announced Tuesday afternoon that they are placing gold glove utility man Dylan Moore on the injured list with right hip inflammation and have selected infielder/outfielder Samad Taylor from Triple-A Tacoma in his place.

The Mariners have also transferred reliever Gregory Santos to the 60-day injured list to clear a place for Taylor on the 40-man roster.

The 32-year-old Moore has played in 23 games for the Mariners, starting at four positions, primarily second and third base, and is batting .286 with six home runs, nine RBI, 16 runs, seven walks and five stolen bases. Moore has been a consistent bat for Seattle as his production at the plate earned him American League Player of the Week honors for the week of April 14-20.

In that stretch, he slashed a .385 batting average, hit three home runs with five RBIs, had an OBP of .407, a slugging percentage of .769, and had an OPS of 1.177.

Taylor, 26, has displayed a hot bat for the Rainers, currently hitting .321 with five doubles, five homers and 14 RBI in 24 games in the Pacific Coast League. Taylor has also posted a .950 OPS so far. Taylor was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Jan. 17 and outrighted to Tacoma on Jan. 21.

Santos, 25, was placed on the 15-day IL originally on April 16 with right knee inflammation, but was later moved to the 60-day IL to make room for a roster spot. In eight appearances for Seattle, he holds a 1-1 record with a 5.14 ERA.
