The Seahawks have signed deep snapper Derek Rackley to replace the injured J.P. Darche. Rackley was with Atlanta for a number of years. They have named Josh Scobey to replace Darche as a special-teams captain. They do not need to release anyone because Darche goes on IR.

I was hoping they would pick up Dale Hallestrae. Anything to get him off our TV and radio shows.

FYI: JP is one of two long snappers in the league that comes from a Canadian University. McGill, in Montreal, in his case.

Just one more thing to annoy me. JP has been flat out money for years as a long snapper. I honestly haven't thought about the long snapping function for years which is how it should be.

JP said his lack of mobility because of the hip injury impacted his ability to block and could very well have contributed to the two blocked FGs. Bummer. At least this Rackley guy has 5 years of experience at long snapping but still, don't really need another something to think about.

So which would be worse keeping JP in there or bringing a new guy in? Normally it would be bringing the new guy in, but as you indicated there were two blocks last week, and they came up the middle.

Either way glad to see the Seahawks having difficulties... anything to give Cardinals an edge this Sunday is good by me! :)

Actually, the other Canadian, Jesse Lumsden, was cut by Washington and I think ended up on their practice squad. Unless I'm forgetting something.

Lumsden is not a long snapper, he's a RB. You must be thinking of someone else.

Not true. I can't think of the other Canadian's name but it will come to me.

Lumsden is a running back. I don't know if Wash. added him to their PS. I read somewhere, that he's expected to be back with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the not too distant.
