Los Angeles Rams offensive stars Puka Nacua and Alaric Jackson are both at the team's 2026 training camp, but they’re both in the midst of legal battles that could subject them to potential punishment from the NFL.
Nacua, who had to apologize after being prompted to perform an antisemitic gesture while congregating with streamers, was then accused of making antisemitic statements and biting a woman on her shoulder during a New Year's Eve celebration, leading to a civil lawsuit.
Jackson was involved in a domestic battery incident, and that process is still underway.
Rams head coach Sean McVay provided an update on both, stating they will be at camp while their legal situations play out and that the NFL has yet to conduct its own investigation as they are also waiting for the conclusion of those situations.
"As it relates to situations with Alaric [Jackson] and Puka Nacua, those are ongoing things that we're gathering all the information legally," stated McVay. "Those guys will both be here and they'll be a part of what we're doing, but we're trying to work in collaboration and coordination with both the legal system and the league to be able to get all the necessary information to be able to listen and understand, and then ultimately be able to try to influence and affect positive decisions and use all these things as learning opportunities for us."
Jackson, who was already suspended by the league for two games in 2024 due to a different personal conduct violation, could be subject to another suspension, which likely would be for six games if handed down by the league.
Nacua has never been suspended by the NFL. McVay dove more into that situation.
“So we've had great communication with the league," stated McVay. "What happens is the legal process wraps itself up, then thereafter, the league does their investigation. What I don't want to do is put the cart before the horse so that's got to take place.
"Then the people at the league have been great with their communication and collaboration with myself and other people that have been involved. But those things need to take place with the legal system first. Then that offers the opportunity for the league to come in and do their independent investigation and make decisions accordingly.”
Long story short, the Rams are controlling the controllables and will not make any moves until they have full picture.
