The Los Angeles Rams are kicking off training camp at Loyola Marymount University this week, and on Saturday, they held their annual pre-camp press conference, with head coach Sean McVay taking the podium.
One of the hot-button topics for camp is the contract status of star receiver Puka Nacua. Nacua, who is set to be a free agent after the season, is one of the NFL's most prolific pass catchers. However, he remains without a long-term deal, despite fellow 2023 draft classmate Jaxon Smith-Njigba already receiving his record-setting extension.
Thus, McVay was asked if Nacua would participate in camp, despite a lack of clarity regarding his future. According to the Associated Press' Greg Beacham, Nacua is set to be a full go.
With Nacua participating, the team avoids a negative storyline heading into camp. The Rams have a history of negotiating deals during this time. In 2025, the Rams avoided a holdout when Kyren Williams took part in practice before landing a new deal, being a full participant for all team activities. The Rams rewarded Williams with his extension that preseason.
No member of the Rams' 2023 draft class has signed an extension yet.
