The Seattle Seahawks triumphed over the Los Angeles Rams, winning the NFC Championship Game 31-27 to advance to Super Bowl LX. It must have felt especially good for former Rams Cooper Kupp and Ernest Jones IV. They were essentially told they weren't good enough to play for them.

The Rams traded Jones to the Tennessee Titans for a late-round pick swap in 2024. They did not believe he was worth signing to a long-term extension. The Seahawks acquired Jones from the Titans a few short months later. He solved their midseason linebacker woes and the Seahawks did what the Rams wouldn't, signing him to a three-year, $33 million extension.

The Rams released Kupp from his contract prior to the 2025 season. Though the financial ramifications were the driving factor, there's a simple message at the heart of every transaction that involves a player being released from an NFL contract. You aren't good enough to play for us anymore.

Jones led the Seahawks in tackles with eight. Kupp recorded four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown. Kupp's touchdown was crucial, extending the Seahawks' lead to 31-20 in the third quarter. He also converted several third downs that impactfully extended possessions.

The Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
