The Seattle Seahawks went through major changes in the secondary this offseason. They lost 2025 starters Coby Bryant and Riq Woolen to free agency. John Schneider managed to re-sign Josh Jobe, who will start at boundary cornerback opposite Devon Witherspoon this coming season.

At safety, Nick Emmanwori is expected to take another massive step forward. The Seahawks also drafted safety Bud Clark with a top-64 pick. Third-year pro Nehemiah Pritchett is being asked to play a bigger role at cornerback.

Seattle's depth at cornerback is highly questionable after losing Woolen. That's precisely why this latest way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft from NFL Spin Zone has the Seahawks taking a cornerback. They land Kelley Jones from Mississippi State at No. 30 overall.

"After losing some key members of the secondary in the 2026 offseason, the Seattle Seahawks could be looking to reload a little bit in 2027," Sayre Bedinger wrote. "They still have plenty of talent in the defensive backfield to compete for another championship in 2026, but a player like Kelley Jones can potentially be an ideal replacement for Riq Woolen, who bolted for the Eagles. Maybe even a little too on-the-nose given his 6-foot-4 frame. Jones's ball skills shined last season to the tune of 11 passes broken up and a pair of interceptions."

Jones is certainly a prospect who possesses the length and measurables the Seahawks have a history of coveting. They'll be monitoring him closely this coming college football season. Cornerback might be high on Seattle's priority list.
