SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — SDSU baseball claimed the Summit League championship 9-6 over Oral Roberts on Saturday, earning the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

This is the Jackrabbits first Summit League title since 2013 and second all-time. SDSU was 0-19 against the Golden Eagles in postseason play coming into this tournament and finished the weekend 2-20.

Ty Madison was named tournament MVP in the win for pitching five innings of relief with two strikeouts and no walks.

“I’m so happy for Ty Madison, that guy has gutted it out all year and has been so big for us,” head coach Rob Bishop said. “Just great to have that guy standing on the mound and we just had big days from all kinds of different guys at the plate.”

The Jackrabbits will learn their NCAA tournament fate on Monday at 11am.
