EDITOR'S NOTE: Coaches are reminded to send in game results each weeknight by emailing [email protected] from 6 to10 p.m.
If you're a fan of offense, the Davies vs. Central Falls/BVP game was right up your alley. The score might indicate it was a football game, but the two teams clashed on the softball field.
The teams combined for 73 runs over four innings of play, with Davies pounding out 24 hits to Central Falls' 13. There were two home runs in the game – one by CF's Sidney Pelletier and one by Davies' Kylie Robert – and while 11 players recorded multi-RBI games, the top prize in that category went to Darelyn Maldonado, who drove in 10 runs. She was a perfect 7-7 at the plate, and scored six times.
Central Falls opened the game with a six-run first inning, and Davies answered with 13 runs of its own in the bottom half. That was just the beginning. Both teams plated several runs in each remaining inning.
For the winning Patriots, Robert (4-5) had five RBIs, Jaslene Rodriguez (2-4) had five RBIs, Maci Linton (4-6) drove in four and Brooke Barnes (3-5) and Zoe Robinson (1-5) each drove in three.
For Central Falls, Pelletier (4-4) tallied five RBIs, as did Nevaeh Fontaine (1-3), Priyasha Verma (2-3) drove in three runs and Aryanna Francisco (1-2) had a pair of RBIs in the loss.
Emily Popowich hit two home runs and drove in four, going deep in the first and third innings, and Chargers starter Adriana Jeannenot tossed seven shutout innings and struck out 15 while allowing just one hit.
Popowich finished the game 2-3 and scored twice, and Jeannenot went 2-4 at the plate with an RBI and run scored. Kaelyn Comerford also drove in a run, and scored twice while going 2-2 for Chariho.
For the Sentinels, MaddieBose recorded the team's lone hit, and starting pitcher Ava Lopez struck out a pair while taking the loss. Bose threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four in the loss.
Mattea Mello will probably tell you it was not her best performance in the circle, but it was more than good enough to lead the Chieftains to victory. The right-hander earned the win as she gave up eight hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and she did not allow a walk.
Haleigh Mooney led the way for Ponaganset as she drew 3 walks and 1 hit and drove in 3 runs. Teammate Selah Michael went 3-for-3 at the plate.
TessaO’Sullivan and Kayla Johnson each collected two hits for the Rebels and O'Sullivan and Abigail O'Rourke each drove in a run in the loss.
The Lions' bats were working overtime, as Lincoln got on the board in every inning of this mercy-rule shortened contest. And in the circle, Adeline Macomber and Anna Dannis combined to strike out five in two innings of work, each.
Lucia Whyte was 2-2, including a triple, with three RBIs and two runs scored for Lincoln. Mykiah Oldham also drove in three, going 2-2 with two runs scored. Lead-off batter Brooke Tilson was 3-4 with a pair of RBIs and run scored, and Brielle Lambert also drove in two, going 3-3 with a run scored.
For the Villa Novans, Kaylin Krampert and Cassidy Gaynor each recorded a hit in the loss.
Maya Etheridge had only one hit, but she drove in four runs as Barrington slammed Mt. Hope in a D-2 contest. Etheridge collected an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the first inning and the doubled in three runs in the second inning.
Mt. Hope opened the scoring with one run in the top of the first, but it didn't last long as the Eagles scored eight runs in the bottom of the first on only one hit, but it was a big one as Grace Fontaine drove in two runs with a double.
But the Huskies drew closer in the top of the second with five runs without a hit to make it 8-6.
However, the Eagles scored eight more runs in the bottom of the second and added another run in the home-half of the third to pull away from MH.
Mt. Hope's downfall came from the circle when as a staff, its pitching allowed 14 walks.
Mia Ruggieri's run-scoring single opened the floodgates for the visiting Patriots, who plated three runs in the first inning and never let up.
Lead-off batter Lilly Morgado was 3-4 with a pair of runs scored, one of six players with a multi-hit game. Ruggieri wound up 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, Evelyn Schmidt went 2-3, with three runs scored, and a home run. Barbara Rainey was 2-4 with two runs scored.
In the circle, Ruggieri was equally impressive, striking out 15 through seven innings and allowing just one run.
For the Cougars, Makenna Heon was 2-3 with a run scored, and Maddie Clayton was 1-3 with an RBI in the loss.
Reagan Motta sent an RBI double to right field in the bottom of the eighth to plate Alivia Cota, and the hosts from Division II finished off an upset of the visitors from Division I at Riverpoint Park.
Cota reached thanks to a two-out single to right, and Motta went the same way to snap a 1-1 tie. That made a winner of pitcher Bryce Principe, who allowed three hits and struck out four in four scoreless innings of work.
Frankie Arnold’s single and unearned run for the Bulldogs and back-to-back doubles from Motta and Grace Gallo gave each team a run in the first – the game stayed deadlocked over the next six frames. Westerly (4-1-1) stranded 10, including three runners at third base with less than two outs. Kent County (2-2) was held without another baserunner into the bottom of the seventh and left the potential winning run at third with two outs.
Arnold struck out seven and allowed just five hits over her 7 2/3 innings. AddisonPoole doubled as part of her two-hit evening for the Bulldogs.
The Thunderbolts struck early and often, cruising to a mercy-rule shortened affair against the visiting Purple.
Irish Nicole-Boni drove in four runs, going 1-1 with a first inning single, and scoring twice. Cydnee Meekins recorded three RBIs and scored two runs, and Cienna Fatorma was 1-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
In the circle, Fatorma allowed one run through 2.2 innings, while fanning seven, and Leanna Garcia closed the door with a strikeout.
Both teams scored seven runs through the first two inning, and then the Cavaliers went on to plate 17 more – including a nine-run fourth – to turn a close game into a mercy-rule shortened contest.
Evanesence Franco and KeAsia Mulbah each homered for Juanita Sanchez, with Franco going a perfect 4-4 on the day with five RBIs, four runs scored and a walk. Karla Cruz was 5-5 with five RBIs, as well, along with four runs scored, and Mulbah (5-5) drove in three runs and scored four times in the Cavaliers' offensive barrage.
Mulbah also earned the win for JS, striking out six through five innings.
For the Blue Wave, Chloe Gonzalez went 2-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and Melissa Pena and Yasmin Bido each recorded a pair of RBIs in the loss.uanita Sanchez at Hope, 4:30 p.m.

The Falcons struck for four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back in a victory over the Patriots.
Pilgrim committed three of its nine errors in the opening frame, inviting the visitors to take command. Chris Barboza didn’t allow the Patriots (0-6) to come any closer thanks to five shutout innings on the mound, striking out 11 against a lone walk. Braden Paesano and Dominic Berry picked up the two hits for Pilgrim.
Alex Milano had two hits and two RBI for Cranston West (1-4), including an infield single in the second. Cooper Bastia and Elan Santana each drove in a pair.
Corey Ogden drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to make the difference as the Panthers slipped past the Broncos.
Ogden put Johnston (2-2) on the board for the first time since the opening frame. Lucca Ricci’s two-run single gave the hosts a 2-0 lead, an advantage Burrillville chipped at with single runs in two different innings.
The Broncos (0-5) scored on an error in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 2-2. Chace Gavis managed an RBI in the top of the third and Adam DeCesare accounted for a pair of hits.
The Chargers scored single runs in each of their last four at-bats and held off a rally by the Knights in the bottom of the seventh inning to post a victory in Providence.
Chariho broke the ice thanks to an error and added on courtesy of Derek Brodeur, who recorded an inside-the-park home run in the top of the sixth. Rohan Downing added a pair of hits out of leadoff spot and Landon Sumner helped himself with an RBI at the plate.
Sumner picked up the win for the Chargers (5-1), fanning 11 over five scoreless frames. He gave way to his bullpen for the final six outs, and Dominic Andrade was credited with the save. Roger Ortega collected two hits, two walks and an RBI for Central (1-2).
Bishop Green and Quinn Liptrot combined on a no-hitter as the Spartans shut down the Patriots.
Green covered the first five innings, striking out four. Liptrot recorded the final six outs to finish the gem, fanning three.
Drake Dumont helped power the offense with a single, a double and a pair of runs scored. Tyler North chipped in a two-run double and Steve Cronan added a two-run single for Scituate (3-0), which was plenty of support for its duo on the mound.
Davies (0-3) was chasing throughout after surrendering five runs in the first and three more in the second.
The Cavaliers forced extra innings with four runs in the top of the sixth and squeezed another across in the top of the eighth to slip past the Pride.
Angel Polanco drew a walk and Isaiah Bento doubled to each knock in a run as Juanita Sanchez erased a 5-1 deficit. That made a winner of pitcher Ethan Guilon, who allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings and struck out five. Bento drew two walks and drove in three while George Padilla racked up two hits, two walks and two stolen bases for the Cavaliers (2-1).
BVP-CF (2-3) did all of its scoring in the bottom of the fifth, using a two-run single by Noah Ferreira to help key the rally. Jolihan Perez, Andriel de Jesus and Alex Torres joined Ferreira with two hits apiece for the Pride.
The Kilties (2-2) cracked a pair of home runs against the city rival Blue Wave, and the second gave them the lead for good in a victory.
Mount Pleasant faced a 3-0 deficit after one inning before battling back. The Kilties plated three runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to jump ahead for good.
Bryan Abreu and Joshua Tejada each knocked a pair of hits for Hope (0-3). Marcos Medrano added an RBI double in the first and Christopher Bernard belted a solo homer in the third.
The Villa Novans broke this one open for good with 10 runs in the top of the second inning and closed out the Navigators via the mercy rule in five frames.
Jordan Plante knocked a pair of RBI singles in the deciding inning, as Woonsocket batted around the order and more. Cesar Vazquez Jr. added a two-run single, Patrick Munger cracked a two-run double and Ty Chhourn added an RBI single as part of an extended rally.
That was plenty of support for Braylon Guibeault, who allowed just one hit in an abbreviated complete game. Guibeault struck out 12 against no walks for the Villa Novans (6-0), who remain unbeaten after capturing a league title last year.
Josue Tejada picked up the lone hit for Paul Cuffee-St. Patrick’s Co-op (0-4) and added a pair of stolen bases.
Nick Andruchow’s two-run single in the top of the ninth inning scored Charlie Brown and Luke Gallo, completing a comeback for the Division II Wizards against their traditional Thanksgiving rivals in a pair of extra frames.
Andruchow’s clutch hit snapped a 4-4 tie and made a winner of Brown, who threw two scoreless innings in relief on the mound. That followed three scoreless innings from St. John’s commit Anthony Burt, who struck out five while making his season debut.
West Warwick (3-0) erased a 4-1 deficit with a rally in the top of the sixth. Kole Kilduff’s single, Mason Hunt’s double and an infield error on a grounder by Logan Fernandes all gave the Wizards single runs. That was enough to force the two extra frames.
Jake Mather cracked a solo homer and Spencer Knutton also collected a hit and an RBI for the Division I Oakers (1-2). Anthony Rapose covered the first seven innings on the mound, striking out eight.
Orandy Bennett was the walkoff hero thanks to a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning, as the Vikings claimed this wild nonleague thriller against the Purple at Cardines Field.
Rogers faced a 5-3 deficit and was down to its last three outs before springing to life. Jack Rosa sent a run-scoring single into center, Colby Schreiber doubled down the line in right and Bennett came through with the winning run in scoring position to snap a 5-5 tie.
Classical scored three times in the top half to wipe out its own 3-2 deficit. Hubert Matos and Oscar Charlesworth each drove RBI singles before a Vikings error offered an insurance run. Matos and Andrew Morales each finished with two hits for the Purple (1-2).
Schreiber knocked in two runs for Rogers (1-3), which snapped a three-game skid to open the season. Rosa added a hit and drew three of his team’s 12 walks.
The Lions received a scare from a Division II rival but came from behind late to outlast the Chieftains and remain perfect on the season.
Joey Lezon hit a walkoff double in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap a 5-5 tie, completing a comeback that saw Lincoln face a 3-0 deficit into the bottom of the sixth. That key swing also gave Lezon a win on the mound, as he covered the final two innings and recovered quickly from losing a 5-3 lead in the top of the seventh.
Ponaganset (3-2) tied the game in the seventh partly thanks to a Brady Lewis double to center. Matt Wachter finished 2-for-2 and added an RBI single in a three-run top of the fifth. Matt Jones and Anthony Murgida Jr. both doubled home runs in the frame.
The Lions (7-0) plated five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take their first lead. Logan Xiarhos highlighted his 2-for-3 day with a two-run double while Carson Mellen and Tyler Almeida each added two hits.
The Quakers answered a lone run from the Saints in the bottom of the first inning with three in the top of the second, and that was enough to capture this nonleague matchup.
Brayden Menard, Luke Wesner and Dustin Boudreau each collected an RBI single to left in the deciding inning. Norman Martel’s RBI single for St. Raphael (1-2) was quickly erased by the bottom of Moses Brown’s order.
Wesner handled the rest of the mound, striking out eight against two walks in six strong innings. Parker DeWolf struck out the side in the seventh to pick up a save for the Quakers (3-1-1), closing out a combined two-hitter.
Noah Travers fired a one-hit shutout and his offense provided support in each odd-numbered inning as the Islanders (3-1) took care of the Tigers (0-4) in a nonleague regional matchup.
Travers struck out 12 against two walks – James Conley was the lone Tiverton hitter to solve him for a hit in his three at-bats. Michael Lisella’s infield out in the first proved to be enough for Travers in a superb effort on the mound.
Lisella added an RBI double in the third and Cameron Carlisle made it 3-0 on an infield out. That was part of a 3-for-4 day for Lisella while Kyle Keefe and Evan Agren each chipped in a pair of hits.
The Townies scored in each of their five turns at the plate, including the clinching two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat the Titans via the mercy rule.
Kyle Desrosiers starred on both sides of the ball for the winners, driving in three runs and striking out five over five scoreless frames on the mound. Max Correiro added three singles, an RBI and two stolen bases for East Providence (4-1). Max Pawlik chipped in an RBI double in the bottom of the second.

Mount Pleasant 6, Hope 4
The Kilties (2-2) cracked a pair of home runs against the city rival Blue Wave, and the second gave them the lead for good in a victory.
Mount Pleasant faced a 3-0 deficit after one inning before battling back. The Kilties plated three runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to jump ahead for good.
Bryan Abreu and Joshua Tejada each knocked a pair of hits for Hope (0-3). Marcos Medrano added an RBI double in the first and Christopher Bernard belted a solo homer in the third.
Woonsocket 11, PC-St. Pats Co-op 1 (5 innings)
Crossover Baseball
West Warwick 6, Coventry 4 (9 innings)
Rogers 6, Classical 5
Lincoln 6, Ponaganset 5
Moses Brown 3, St. Raphael 1

Middletown 7, Tiverton 0

Max Correiro added three singles, an RBI and two stolen bases for East Providence (4-1). Max Pawlik chipped in an RBI double in the bottom of the second.
