With Mizzou Football’s fall camp officially underway, one of the biggest question marks for Eli Drinkwitz’s Tigers heading into the season is the status of All-American running back Ahmad Hardy.

Hardy, after suffering a gunshot wound back in the month of May seems to be progressing well, but he was not a full participant in Missouri’s first week of practice — per Drinkwitz.

“Ahmad is in his recovery. It really hasn’t changed since the last two weeks. He will not be a participant in practice this week, but he will be a participant in rehab walkthroughs as we continue just to get him acclimated back to what it would take to play football. Should not have an adjustment on that. I think in two weeks there may be another update on where everything is at.”

Hardy is also in the middle of the 5-8 week return to play protocol — according to Drinkwitz at SEC Media Days.

With Missouri set to open their regular season on Thursday, September 3rd against Arkansas Pine-Bluff — we asked the fanbase if Hardy will play in the opener — and the vast majority don’t believe he will.

Considering the FCS opponent for the opener — this is probably the right call. Getting Hardy back to 100 percent full health is the biggest priority.
