As far as "untouchable" NBA players go, Victor Wembanyama probably leads the pack. Also on the San Antonio Spurs, though, is Dylan Harper, who enjoys the same status.
The number of players in the league who could be considered "tradeable" has grown in recent months, with both Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo enjoying a change of scenery. Only Wembanyama, Cooper Flagg, Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nikola Jokic are truly and totally off the trade block.
In San Antonio, the trio of Wemby, Harper, and Stephon Castle is seen as key building blocks for the future. However, if the right offer came along, the Spurs might pull the trigger on a shocking deal.

This isn't to say that the Spurs have made Castle available, but if they did, some teams would move heaven and Earth to add him.
In a ranking by BleacherReport's Andy Bailey, the Spurs have the second-best trade assets of anyone in the NBA, behind only the OKC Thunder. Of course, San Antonio boasts a war chest of draft picks and tradeable players like Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Luke Kornet, and De'Aaron Fox, although interest in him has waned.
Leading the way, though, is the third-year point guard. He's projected to continue to blossom into an elite two-way player, and the Spurs have treated him as a key building block alongside both Harper and Wembanyama. However, as far as that young trio goes, Castle is the least "untouchable."
"There's really no reason San Antonio would ever consider moving [Wembanyama and Harper], especially with all the picks already headed its way," Bailey wrote. "Stephon Castle may be a slightly different story. His ceiling appears slightly lower than Harper's, and he could help San Antonio land another star to play with Wemby."
Even with the obvious trade value, Castle is expected to remain a fixture in San Antonio.
"Castle has real star upside, and the Spurs feel like a safe bet to keep building patiently," Bailey clarified.
A ********* of Wemby, Harper, and Castle is expected to dominate the NBA for years to come. But if the Spurs could land a truly elite player, better than Herb Jones or Derrick White (think Scottie Barnes or Devin Booker), then maybe it's worth having a conversation.
Castle isn't "untouchable," but he's close, and the Spurs won't entertain offers for him unless it makes them better now and for the next eight seasons.
