No. 8 Tennessee (38-7, 12-6 SEC) defeated Radford (22-23, 9-6 Big South), 2-1, on Tuesday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. Rankings reflect the NFCA/GoRout Division I Coaches Poll.

Sage Mardjetko (10-1) started for Tennessee and pitched 5.1 innings. She totaled 10 strikeouts and 97 pitches, including 60 strikes, against 21 batters. Mardjetko allowed two hits, one run (zero earned) and three walks.

Tennessee totaled three hits against Radford, including two from center fielder Sophia Knight. Second baseman Ella Dodge also had one hit.

Karlyn Pickens pitched 1.2 innings in relief and earned her fourth save of the season. She totaled one strikeout.

Tennessee leads the all-time softball series, 9-0, against Radford. The Lady Vols are also 8-0 in games contested in Knoxville.

Tuesday marked the first game of the last regular-season homestand at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium for the Lady Vols.

Tennessee will next host Alabama for a three-game series beginning Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
