Sabres get hints at when Bruins playoff Game 1 will be played originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It's the most highly anticipated hockey ticket in Western New York in a long, long time.
The Buffalo Sabres are back in the NHL playoffs for the first time since April 2011, and they're set to host the Boston Bruins for Game 1 of their opening series.
The only question in Buffalo is when the game will be played.
The regular season ends Thursday, and then the playoffs start Saturday.
It's for sure that Game 1 will be played either Saturday or Sunday, but which one? Multiple hints point toward Saturday.
The first is a post put out on social media by MSG which referred to the game as being on Saturday. That was since deleted, but not before fans noticed.
Another is the Boston Celtics' schedule. They'll be playing a playoff game on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. It doesn't make a ton of sense for the NHL to have the Bruins overlap there if they don't have to.

And then there's Hockey Night in Canada, which is on Sunday night. It seems like the Montreal Canadiens against the Tampa Bay Lightning would be the logical game for that time slot.
Every road leads to Saturday.
There are multiple times the game could be, of course, with social media speculation suggesting Saturday afternoon.
The game time isn't going to affect the energy in the building. Fans in Buffalo will be ready. They're just waiting to be told when to show up.
