"Before I arrived at Louisville, my journey took me through multiple programs − each one shaping me, teaching me, and preparing me for the next chapter," Conwell said in a statement. "It wasn't always the easiest path, but it was God's plan. Every stop, every challenge, every unexpected turn was exactly where I was supposed to be."

Conwell played for four different programs in four seasons: USF, Indiana State, Xavier and Louisville.

He went through coaching changes and ultimately entered the transfer portal after his first three stops as USF fired Brian Gregory in 2023, Indiana State's Josh Schertz left for St. Louis in 2024, and Xavier's Sean Miller left for Texas in 2025.

Conwell was a third-team All-Big East selection at Xavier in 2025 after averaging 16.5 points per game and shooting 41.2% from 3-point range. Conwell scored a career-high 38 points in Xavier's Big East Tournament loss to Marquette.

Conwell's Xavier teammate, Dailyn Swain, has also declared for the NBA Draft.

On April 1, 2025, Conwell committed to Louisville, coached by former Xavier assistant Pat Kelsey. Conwell was Louisville's leading scorer (18.8 points per game) and helped the Cardinals earn a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season.

In four postseason games, Conwell averaged 19.3 points and 5 rebounds. He had a team-high 21 points in Louisville's season-ending loss to Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament.
