The next two weeks could determine the outlook of the next 12 months for the Rutgers men’s basketball program.

The 15-day transfer portal window officially opened on Tuesday, marking the only period in the calendar year where players can leave their current program in pursuit of another landing spot. Players can leave their current program through Tuesday, April 21, and once they are in the portal, they can sign with a new school whenever they want.

For the Scarlet Knights, there should be a number of departures that open up spots for much-needed additions across the board.

The first day of the transfer portal window is here, and it brought some early updates:

— Harun Zrno, a freshman guard from Bosnia, is the third Scarlet Knight to enter the transfer portal.

— Sophomore forward Bryce Dortch, a member of the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history, became the first Scarlet Knight to leave the program after announcing his intention to enter the portal on Monday afternoon.

— Freshman guard Dorian Jones, who redshirted the 2025-26 season with the Scarlet Knights to work on academic issues that forced him to get out of a national letter of intent from Ohio State, entered the transfer portal shortly after it opened at midnight.
