With Matthews, Helu, Vareen, and Gore gone and possibly Murray either staying in Dallas or going to Philly, (and if that happens, Peterson more than likely will be a Cowboy) what do we do if anything, to sure up our running back situation? Name backs left are:

DeAngelo Williams
Stephen Jackson
CJ Spiller
Knowshon Moreno
Reggie Bush
Darren McFadden
Pierre Thomas
Stevan Ridley
Peyton Hillis
Justin Forsett
Ben Tate

Or do we go to war with what we have in Ellington, Taylor, Williams, and Grice? Personally, if we don't get Peterson or Murray, I wouldn't mind bringing in Forsett, Spiller, or even Bush for a season and go with what we have.

Deangelo Williams announced his retirement, I thought I read Knowshon Moreno did too. If we don't trade for Peterson my guess is our next RB will be taken in the draft.

I like Spiller and Forsett. I would also be good with a RB taken in the 3rd or 4th rd.

Half those guys aren't power backs and I think at this point the draft is a better option than anyone listed.

I just heard a radio interview that said that Gurley might be out for the entire upcoming season. Do you wait a year for any production?

Not unless you can get him in round 4+. What was the name of the S. Carolina RB that SF did this with? That didn't work out very well for them.

Marcus Lattimore. I loved watching him in college. Just couldn't stay healthy.

If Gurley's there, which is possible, do we take him?

I think we'd take Gordon over Gurley because we're in win now mode, but I think if the right players have gone we'd definitely take him. I could also see a trade down scenario like last year, especially if the Cowboys keep Murray and we're not as worried about a back going in the next few picks.

There's lots of good 2nd/3rd round power backs this year too though so I don't think we *have* to get Gordon or Gurley if we don't sign a FA.

Coleman (Indiana), Yeldon (Alabama), Davis (South Carolina), Johnson (NIU), Ayaji (Boise State), and Allen (USC) all have been ranked as high as 2nd or 3rd round and weigh around 220 lbs. I have no idea which ones will have good careers but surely one of them will be there for us.

Ryan Mathews agreed to a deal with PHIL, he did not sign a deal. Question will be whether he signs if and when Eagles sign DeMarco Murray.

Why not bring in Peyton Hillis on a vet minimum 1 year deal?

If he has any gas, let alone fumes, left in the tank he may just earn a roster spot.
