I mean, I'm sure these rumors are a big nothingburger, but...Let's play what if. What if they DO trade for Lamar, and do so without giving up the #1 overall? How could they do that? Why, trade down to another team with good draft capital, say a team sitting at #3. Then the Raiders can give up their top pick while also gaining more draft capital. Then the Cards would have to figure out what to do at #1 LOL

A silly exercise, but hey, I'm freaking bored already,

The Raiders who don't even have a HC yet are eyeing trading for Lamar? I would think they would hire a HC before making a major decision like that!! This is all just internet BS.

If it wasn't for bad luck
I wouldn't have no luck at all
Sad part is, I grew up a Rams fan until I was about 15. We moved to AZ and felt obligated to root for the home teams. At the time the rams were no better so I don’t feel to bad but daggum

It's highly unlikely that the Ravens would trade Lamar. I suppose they may consider it if his contract extension demands become too crazy, i.e.-fully guaranteed type stuff. But, IMO, it's more likely they get the extension done and everybody is *** ba yah afterward.

When I was a teenager I loved the Rams and Roman Gabriel was my hero. Lost interest in football by the time I was 18 though.

Turned to women instead, eh?

Then later in life back to football because unlike the women the Cardinals would always screw you, right?

Why would they want a crippled busted up Lamar over a young franchise quarterback? For a lot less money! This is just trying to get jets and cards fans hope we have a shot at mendoza

Whole i am sure you are right...

Baby bowl cut is a serious Tom Brady fan boy.
Tom Brady is in fact quite enamored with Lamar Jackson.

So with recent rumors that things are not so cozy between Lamar and the Ravens...I'm not surprised the Raiders jumped to the top quick.

.
Except..... Baltimore just chose Lamar over Harbaugh didn't they??

Indeed. The only way this makes sense is if they want to start over and go with Mendoza instead. I don't see it happening though for the reason you stated.

Its possibly Baltimore wants to move on from both Harbaugh and Jackson. Harbaugh seemed to waste very talented rosters and not be able to get over the hump...Jackson is getting older, has not won the big games, and if you believe the rumors is becoming a pretty major issue. Jackson apparently doesnt study, shows up late, sleeps through meetings, and flexes his "im the star player" muscle a lot to excuse his unprofessional attitude.

Good teams know when to move on from a coach that has grown stale...and they know when to sell high on a player who is declining.

If they could get Mendoza, plus a 27 1st rounder, plus additional picks from the Raiders...who could very easily still be picking top 5 next year even with Lamar Jackson...then yes of course you consider it.

The Ravens went 8-9 last year with Lamar. Do you really think they would be a whole lot worse next year with Mendoza?

Lamar missed what, 4-5 games in that 8-9 run? It's not like he was healthy all 17 games. They were a much better team with him, than without.

Ummm... If the Ravens were willing to take the #3 pick for Jackson and miss out on the chance to draft a QB this year... Why would they be dealing with the Raiders?? They could come directly to the Cardinals.
