Rotary All-Star Football Classic kicks off 37th edition. What to know

The 37th annual Rotary South All-Star Football Classic kicks off Monday at Edison Stadium, featuring a collection of the top senior players from 21 Lee County high schools.

The Blue Team includes a stable of solid running backs in Bishop Verot's Deshon Jenkins, Bishop Verot's Macrae Thompson, and Cape Coral's Jermaine Skinner. Defensively, Illinois commit and Cape Coral star Almirian Thomas will anchor the secondary alongside fellow Seahawk Jayden Reyes, SFCA's Terrence Simmons, and others.

The Gold Team features a standout quarterback in Will Bichler (South Fort Myers), and a talented group of skill players. At running back, Lovensky Blanchard, Nicholas Korf, and Christian Weber were all 1,000-yard rushers this season. At wide receiver, Bichler will be throwing to Estero's Kegan Kreuscher, South Fort Myers' Joshua Raphael, Fort Myers' Bryson Glover, and North Fort Myers' Charles Lombardo.

The Gold Team will have stacked offensive and defensive lines, led by Miami signee Joel Ervin and Florida State signee Judah Daniels. On the defensive line, Julien Correa and Daniel Johnson are named to watch.
