I hope the necessary clubs vote to allow Newcastle United to keep Glenn Roeder on as coach...what a job he's done. We didn't quite win a place in Europe outright, but to get all the way to the Intertoto spot was well done. Wish we could have sent Shearer out on a bigger high, but after the early season we had, I'll take it.

Why does NUFC need votes from other clubs to keep their manager?

Roeder doesn't technically qualify, as you need FA licenses to coach. He's proven he can indeed be a solid top-flight coach, though, so Newcastle wanted to keep him. They lobbied the FA to give a special dispensation, and the FA said no. We're pretty confident he'll pass the final appeal, though. All we need is something like 2/3 of the Premiership owners to agree to the exception, which word is will easily be granted. We shall see.
