There's not much room for the Colorado Rockies to go out and have a bad series this weekend as they go up against a pretty strong Milwaukee Brewers team.
This three-game set takes place at American Family Field in Milwaukee. It should be noted that the Rockies are going to up against one of the MLB's best pitchers in right-hander Jacob Misiorowski.
Coming off just a bad game on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals at Coors Field, Colorado had a day off on Thursday. It might have been a day where the Rockies' players could discard what took place on the previous day.
In taking a look at the probable starters for this series, things look somewhat even in the first two games on Friday afternoon and Saturday night. There will be a Sunday afternoon contest and, well, it's set up for Misiorowski to go out and have another stellar start.
Friday, July 24: RHP Tomoyuki Sugano (9-4, 4.76) vs. LHP Shane Drohan (5-3, 3.20)
Sugano has been one of those starters that have stood out for Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer. With a 9-4 record, that's the good part. Sugano's 4.76 ERA is a bit scary, especially going out there and facing a strong list of batters from the Brewers,
Drohan's name has been part of the rumor mill ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline on Aug. 3. He's 5-3 with that 3.20 ERA. Drohan might be able to find a couple of spots where he can dominate the Rockies when they are at the plate.
This, though, potentially looks like a winnable game for Colorado.
Saturday, July 25: RHP Ryan Feltner (3-4, 5.48) vs. LHP Robert Gasser (2-4, 4.91)
Boy oh boy, this might be one of those games where both starters get the heave-ho early in their starts by Schaeffer and Brewers manager Pat Murphy.
Feltner hasn't been strong at times, reflective of his 3-4 record. That 5.48 ERA is pretty big, giving Brewers hitters some fancy ideas about ambushing Feltner early in his start.
Gasser has a 2-4 record and a hefty 4.91 ERA, too. These two pitchers need to come out and have solid starts. That's even more important for Feltner. For the Rockies to even have an outside shot at picking up a series win, he has to go out there and deliver.
Sunday, July 26: LHP Kyle Freeland (2-9, 7.28) vs. RHP Jacob Misiorowski (10-4, 1.57)
Rockies fans, this might turn into a blowout. Yes, it's understandable that Colorado fans want their team to win. Freeland, though, just has not been steady and good throughout the 2026 MLB season.
His 2-9 record and 7.28 ERA are tough to look at when the Rockies know that Misiorowski is going to be throwing his 100-mph pitches right at them.
Speaking about Misiorowski, his 10-4 record and 1.57 ERA really reflect how well he has been pitching this season. He has missed some time this season, but he's just going out time and time again to show the onlookers in MLB that he's worthy of being in the National League Cy Young Award conversation.
Friday's afternoon game starts at 2:10 p.m. MT. Saturday's night game has a first-pitch time of 5:10 p.m. MT. Then, on Sunday, the series finale is set to start at 12:10 p.m. MT.
All of these games from American Family Field will air on Rockies.TV and the radio broadcasts can be picked up from KOA in the Denver metropolitan area.
