Rockets @ Suns Thursday game thread 11-4-2021

On Thursday the Rockets visit the Suns who are playing the fourth game of their five game home stand.

The Rockets 1-6 lost a close game at the Lakers on Tuesday 119-117.

Suns are now 3-3 after winning their last two games against the Cavaliers and Pelicans.

Saturday the Suns will wrap their home stand when the Hawks visit.

The game is scheduled to be televised on Bally Sports Arizona and NBA TV.

Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m. Arizona time.

Just from the sound of it, Cam Payne and Deandre Ayton could miss the game with the Rockets although we will have to wait and see.

Houston is only 1-6 but they've been in every game except against Utah. They are better than we've looked in our bad quarters and we've had enough bad quarters to have reason to worry about this one. We can't afford to throw away another very winnable game but I have zero faith in this squad so far.

I absolutely hate the games on Bally and NBA TV since they are blacked out.

I don't know what to say. Suns fans need easier access. I was hoping a local channel would pick up the games.

They'll be a stream available but it'll probably end up as the NBA TV feed and they have terrible commentators. Their half time coverage is good, like ESPN before they started pushing stories more than actual game coverage.

NBA TV is one station that has gotten progressively worse as it's grown. I liked the early days when there was 1 guy talking NBA almost all night like a sports radio show. Now it's just repeats of NBA Tonight over and over.

This is one of the things I thought about as well but I didn't want to mention it but the story is out there now.

I was thinking about this as well. I think it has. I think the players knew this was coming. How can you be a player, knowing a huge story will break at any time that completely tarnishes the reputation of the franchise, especially, after the run last year and it not impact you?

I don't care what they say. It's stressful and deflating.

I don’t think it impacts the team. They work for the organization. At different levels they’ve all already experienced, seen or heard about all of this. I’d be surprised if much, if any, of this is news to any of them other than the guys who are brand new to the team. And, as has been said before, Paul has experience with this so we couldn’t have a better prepared leader, who commands the attention and respect of the younger guys, to lead us through this.

I'm grateful for Paul, of course, having been through a total clusterfutz before with team ownership but having Monty here also to steer the ship makes things that much better. He is a strong leader and won't allow this to become too much of a distraction for the players.

This could have been much worse with a weaker coach and less experienced leader on the floor.

Selfishly I want the Suns to look past things and continue onward in a positive direction. I imagine the players want that also.
