Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead Sunday afternoon inside their Brentwood home, a source close to the Reiner family told NBC News.

Two people were found dead Sunday afternoon inside a Brentwood home owned by director and actor Rob Reiner, multiple law enforcement sources told NBCLA.

The LA Fire Department said a man and a woman were found deceased inside, approximately 78 and 68 years old.

It’s being reported that homicide is on the scene because they both appear to have lacerations consistent with knife wounds.

Sounds like someone murdered them and tried to cover it up by setting house on fire.

I’ve been listening to KNX news radio. This is just going to get worse ande worse. News conference from LAPD is coming up in the next 10 to 15 minutes. The family has officially confirmed their deaths.

LAPD said they will not release any info at this time. The coroners office has to release the names of the victims. They are not actively looking for a suspect. No search warrant yet. They will not release name of suspect. Will not release info on manner of death. No one being officially questioned ar this time. It is not being called a homicide or a crime by LAPD. More info after the LAPD has a search warrant and investigate inside and outside the home.

Meanwhile the mayor of LA says it’s the Reiners.

Killing each other with guns is a time honored American tradition, so a perfectly normal thought.

That's why I said only an American would think that way.

A knife is far more personal which makes sense because it was family. A knife can also mean a sudden/impulse attack because any unarmed person in your house could just grab one of your own steak knives you likely have readily available in your kitchen area and use it against you.
