RFK Racing has picked up Preece's contract option for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season, as said by Keselowski via FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass. Keselowski stated that Preece's contract option was picked up a few months ago, meaning he will drive the No. 60 car in 2027.

Preece will run an open entry full-time, meaning it will be a tougher challenge for the No. 60 team and RFK Racing. In fact, Preece will have to make the Daytona 500 on speed since he won't have a charter, and the other advantages will no longer be present. However, Preece is still full-time with RFK Racing, which means the most in this situation.
