On what was a quiet pre-draft Saturday in Nashville, the Tennessee Titans did make some news, although it was more of a formality than anything.

ESPN analyst Jeremy Fowler took to X (formerly Twitter) to report that the Titans plan to pick up the fifth-year option on offensive guard Peter Skoronski. For most, this move was never in doubt; the only real question was whether or not the team would reach an agreement before picking up the option.

With the option in place, Skoronski will make a guaranteed salary of $19.07 million in 2027, a cap number that Tennessee would surely like to bring down with a long-term extension. Which is something general manager Mike Borgonzi discussed openly at the NFL Scouting Combine.

This will be a big jump for the 2023 first-rounder, who is growing into one of the elite interior linemen in the league. Picked No. 11 in the 2023 NFL Draft, Skoronski is coming off his best season, starting in all 17 games, logging 1055 snaps, and giving up only two sacks, and was an anchor for the Titans’ offensive line.
