The Boston Red Soxcalled up relief pitcher Tyler Samaniego one week ago for what turned out to be a historic MLB debut.

Now, the Red Sox are reportedly promoting fellow reliever Jack Anderson from Triple-A Worcester for what could be his big-league debut as well.

"The Red Sox are calling up RHP Jack Anderson, who is on his way to Minnesota to join the team, a league source tells @7News," 7News Boston sports anchor/reporter Ari Alexander posted on X.

The New York Yankees originally selected Anderson out of high school in the 36th round of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft and the Detroit Tigers then picked the right-hander out of Florida State University in the 16th round of the 2021 event.

Boston purchased Anderson's contract in the Rule 5 Draft in 2024 and he split last year between Worcester and Double-A Portland.

The 26-year-old has made two Triple-A starts this season and allowed four earned runs on eight hits with three walks and nine strikeouts across 9 2/3 innings pitched.
