With this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico now merely an afterthought, the attention and consciousness of everyone is now on PSG and the summer transfer window ahead.
It's safe to say things have really got going since the World Cup ended. We saw Goncalo Ramos depart the club after three years and join Italian giants AC Milan, and Kang-in Lee move back to La Liga and join Atletico Madrid. No doubt all PSG fans wish the pair of them all the best on their new adventures.
Meanwhile, there has been a lot of talk about Bradley Barcola departing the club, after it was reported that the Frenchman had turned down a new contract extension from the club, and with just two years remaining, is no longer untouchable.
As all sensible and well ran clubs do, PSG have already been looking at their succession plans. For all intense and purposes, it seemed like Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig would be the one to replace Barcola, but barring any hiccups, it seems as if he will be joining Real Madrid.
So, where do the club go next? Well, we may just have an idea. Indeed so, as it is being widely reported that PSG are now actively trying to sign AFC Ajax and Belgian national team winger, Mika Godts.
French journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that the two clubs are in active talks, and that the player is thrilled by the idea of joining the club. He mentions what we touched on earlier - that he is the alternative to Diomande.
Meanwhile, Sacha Tavolieri reports that sporting director Luis Campos has been monitoring the forward and has been making initial enquiries since all the way back in March. He states that he is considered the perfect back up to Khivcha Kvaratskhelia and is likely a direct replacement for Barcola.
Finally, Dutch outlet Voetbal International have reported that Ajax are looking for a fee worth 60 million Euros for Godts, who currently has three years remaining on his contract at the Dutch giants.
At just 20 years of age (since turned 21), the winger scored 17 goals, provided 12 assists and created 14 big chances in just 32 Eredivise games (30 starts) last season. Brilliant numbers, regardless of your thoughts on the strength or lack there of in the Netherlands.
