With Bradley Barcola having decided not to extend his contract with PSG, the French capital club is now waiting for offers for the France international. Paris is expecting €170 million from the sale of the former Lyon player, amid Liverpool interest.
For a few hours now, the future of Barcola has been the subject of all kinds of speculation, since several reliable sources have confirmed that the Paris Saint-Germain forward has told the back-to-back European champions that he does not want to extend his contract.
Two years from the end of his current deal, the player trained at Olympique Lyonnais is therefore close to a departure, even if Luis Enrique wants Luis Campos to find a replacement for Bradley Barcola before giving him the green light to leave.
However, several clubs are already jostling to sign the PSG and France winger, and naturally his price is already rocketing. According to Ben Jacobs, the very reliable English journalist, Paris Saint-Germain could complete a record sale for a Ligue 1 club.
Indeed, PSG is expecting €170 million to let Bradley Barcola leave. A colossal sum, but not a random one, according to Jacobs.
“PSG values Bradley Barcola at €170 million and is using the transfers of Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson as benchmarks for its player’s valuation. This figure takes into account that Barcola is a back-to-back Champions League winner, had a fine World Cup, and is only 23. In addition, several clubs have made inquiries,” explains Jacobs, who says it is the Paris Saint-Germain president who is now in charge of this matter.
“Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be directly involved in any discussions regarding a potential departure of Bradley Barcola, alongside Luis Campos. PSG’s project is based on players who want to stay, which means a departure for Barcola, in the absence of a new contract being signed, has always been possible.”
For his part, Santi Aouna says the Barcola camp is giving priority to Liverpool in the event of a departure this summer from Paris Saint-Germain. And the Reds have reportedly already started talks with the Parisian management over the possible and now likely departure of the French winger to Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether the Mersey club, which already put down €150 million last year to sign Alexander Isak, will push the bar up to €170 million for the French PSG forward.
Elsewhere, PSG is reportedly pushing to sign FC Koln's Said El Mala as an attacking reinforcement, after being ruled out of the race to sign RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, who changed his mind and now wants to sign for Real Madrid. Crazy summer ahead.
