The year was 2014. The USMNT made it to the Round of 16 of the World Cup after getting out of Group G and faced a formidable Belgium team. Little did the Belgians know it would be a tough night thanks to United States goalkeeper Tim Howard.
Howard spent the night making save after save after save in a game that would go to the limit. But it wasn't meant to be for the USMNT -- when you're facing that many shots against a team like Belgium and have to lean on Howard to do it all, eventually it's going to backfire.
First it was Kevin De Bruyne who scored in the 93rd minute, followed by Romelu Lukaku in the 105th. Julian Green scored in the 107th for the United States, but it was too little, too late. But Howard left that game a national hero, and with the USMNT playing Belgium once more in the World Cup, it's a good time to remember all those saves.

Unreal. What a performance. We'll never forget that.
As Howard told his former teammate Landon Donovan, he thinks the United States will "have to play the greatest game they've ever played four games in a row."
