Thought this might happen. Gives us a little less depth at OT, but hopefully if a team trades for him he'll get an extension.

Does anyone think that a team will realistically trade for Reggie Wells? I certainly don't.

Is this a statement that Lutui is out of Whiz's doghouse for now?

There's only so long Whis can keep his best lineman in his doghouse. He needs to be starting at STL.

OK. I think Lutui is the best run blocker on the team when he's in shape and motivated, and I get taking advantage of him in a contract year. But I'm also betting Lutui is not re-signed regardless of his performance this year. I can't see the Cards giving him a big deal after this summer.

So I guess it makes sense now. If you're going to lose both of these guys, better keep the one that's young-and-motivated.

Luckily we have Rex next year and hopefully we move Herman over to his more natural position. I could also see us spending our first rounder on a Tackle next year to try and motivate Levi and Brandon.

You're probably right. I hope he gets back in good graces because I'd like him to remain a Card

I would love to see a Reggie Wells-Kellen Clemens trade with the Jets. They need a LG anyway, and they can use Wells to develop Ducasse.

There are teams who still have problems along the OL, and Wells can play tackle (maybe) in a pinch. Buffalo wanted him two coaching staffs ago enough that they signed him to a restricted free agent offer sheet. If you're a team that's going to pass 60% of the time or more, he's an asset.

He'd look good in a Bears uniform.

So we can count on him not playing on Thursday then? They won't risk an injury to a guy who is on the block.

I do. Wells isn't really making an insane amount of money and he can presumably play all 5 positions on the OL at least somewhat. We'd likely get a 6th or 7th for him at best, or even a conditional pick, but if Detroit can trade Tyler Polumbus (T) for undisclosed 2012 draft choice to Seattle like they did the other day then surely Wells can be traded.
