Reece James remained absent as England trained in Mexico on the eve of Sunday’s World Cup clash against the co-hosts.
The 26-year-old started the first two games against Croatia and Ghana, but a hamstring injury ruled him out of the matches against Panama and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
James appears set to miss a third successive game having been conspicuous by his absence from England’s session in Mexico City on Saturday afternoon.
Jarell Quansah was able to take part ahead of the last-16 tie after a twisted ankle ruled him out of the DR Congo tie on Wednesday.
Tuchel revealed key midfielder Declan Rice was dealing with “terrible” neural pain in that match but he too trained.
