The Rochester Red Wings overcame an early deficit to beat the Worcester Red Sox 6-4 Thursday in the opener of a scheduled doubleheader at ESL Ballpark. Game 2 was postponed due to rain; its status has not yet been announced.
Worcester took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Matt Thaiss' three-run homer. Yohandy Morales responded with a solo shot in the bottom half to put Rochester on the board.

WooSox starter Patrick Sandoval allowed one run on one hit over 1 2/3 innings before the bullpen took over. Sweet took the loss after allowing two runs in the fifth.
