The Rochester Red Wings continued their winning streak with a 12-1 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Friday at Polar Park.

Rochester scored five runs in the first inning, with Christian Franklin hitting a leadoff double and scoring on a Yohandy Morales double. Brady House followed with an RBI single, Abimelec Ortiz hit a two-run homer and Andrew Pinckney added a solo shot.

The Red Wings added another run in the fourth when Franklin singled and scored on a Harry Ford double. Ortiz hit his second homer of the night in the sixth, driving in three more runs to give Rochester a 9-1 lead.

In the ninth, Trey Lipscomb doubled and scored on another Morales single. Franklin reached and House capped the scoring with a two-run double.

On the mound, Jack Sinclair worked the first two innings before Holden Powell took over. Worcester’s only run came in the fifth, when Max Ferguson walked, Matt Thaiss reached on an error and Braiden Ward bounced an RBI single to right. Luke Young, PJ Poulin, Trevor Gott and Zak Kent combined to navigate the final four innings without another run.

Ortiz homered twice and drove in five. House had three RBIs, and Morales had two.

The Red Wings have won seven straight and 12 of 13. They are 29-20 and in first place in the International League East division.
