Rochester fell to Worcester 6-5 in 10 innings Tuesday night at ESL Federal Credit Union Ballpark.
The Red Wings dropped to 38-25 after the Red Sox rallied to tie the game in the ninth and then scored two more runs in the 10th.
Rochester got home runs from Robert Hassell III, Riley Adams and Abimelec Ortiz.
Hassell opened the scoring in the fifth inning with a solo home run to center. Worcester answered in the seventh when Jason Delay's RBI single to center brought home Kristian Campbell to tie the game.
The Red Wings quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Pinckney doubled and then scored on a two-run home run by Adams to left, putting Rochester up 3-1. Ortiz added a solo home run to center in the eighth to stretch the lead to 4-1.
However, that cushion disappeared in the ninth. Allan Castro reached base on an error and Tsung-Che Cheng walked, setting the stage for a three-run home run by Matt Lloyd to left, tying the game at 4-4.
A rain delay of more than an hour followed the ninth inning before play resumed.
In the 10th, pinch-runner Tyler McDonough started at second, moved to third on Braiden Ward's single and scored when Matt Thaiss grounded into a double play. Ward later scored on Campbell's RBI single, giving Worcester a 6-4 advantage.
Rochester answered with its own automatic runner in the bottom half. Adams advanced to third on Lipscomb's groundout and scored on Morales' grounder to third. However, Song intentionally walked Ortiz and then induced House to fly out to center to end the game with the tying and winning runs on base.
Starter Chandler Champlain limited Worcester to one run on five hits over six innings, striking out two. The bullpen combined to allow five runs over the final four frames, with Eddy Yean charged with three in the ninth and Seth Shuman tagged with two (one earned) in the 10th.
