The Detroit Red Wings (40-27-8) are on the road today to play the New York Rangers (31-36-9) in a nationally televised game. The Red Wings and Ottawa Senators are tied for the final Eastern wildcard position, but the Senators officially hold the spot because of the tiebreaker system.

Where: Madison Square Garden

When: 12:30. ET

TV/Radio: ABC/97.1 FM. Local Xfinity subscribers won’t be able to see the game because of the ongoing financial dispute between Scripps and XFinity. The Red Wings have issued a step-by-step way to watch the game on ESPN.

Due to an ongoing national carriage dispute between Scripps and Comcast/ Xfinity, subscribers in metro Detroit are currently unable to watch WXYZ (ABC 7).

Here’s how impacted subscribers can stream tomorrow’s game via ESPN, using their cable login: https://t.co/DE0X1nHtVepic.twitter.com/Y1ALxUkC3q

Odds: Detroit (-1,5, +170), New York Rangers (+1.5, -205), DRAFTKINGS

Hot: Lucas Raymond (72 points) is the third Red Wings player in the past 20 years to record three-consecutive 70-point seasons, joining Pavel Datsyuk (five from 2005-06 to 2009-10) and Henrik Zetterberg (four from 2007-08 to 2010-11).

Not: JT Compher has one goal in 10 games.

Spotlight: Patrick Kane has two goals and six assists for eight points in Detroit’s past four games. There’s every reason to believe the Red Wings try to re-sign him this summer.

Story: John Gibson will start in goal tonight. . . The Red Wings called up defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka on an emergency basis. Defenseman Justin Faulk, hurt in the Philadelphia game, is questionable, although coach Todd McLellan is hopeful. . . The Red Wings are coming off an important 4-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers. Injuries: Michael Rasmussen (undisclosed) and Faulk (undisclosed).
