The Detroit Red Wings (40-29-8) are home today to play the Columbus Blue Jackets (38-27-12). The Red Wings and Blue Jackets are tied with 88 points, both two points out of the Eastern Conference’s second wildcard position.

Spotlight: Patrick Kane has 507 career goals, tying him with Jean Beliveau for 46th place on the NHL’s all-time list. His 1,395 points has moved him past Luc Robitaille (1,394) for sole possession of 25th place on the NHL’s all-time points list. With 888 career assists, he needs three more to tie Dale Hawerchuk (891) for 22nd place on the NHL’s all-time list.
