Texas Rangers infielder Corey Seager

The Boston Red Sox need a right-handed bat if they want to turn the 2026 season around. That's easier said than done, though.

Right now, Boston is 27-35 on the season. Fortunately, there are still two months to go until the 2026 trade deadline but the Red Sox need to take a step in the right direction or they're going to risk falling too far out of contention. One way to jump-start the season would be to make a splash for a right-handed bat.

Recently, we proposed a mock trade for Houston Astros superstar Yordan Álvarez. He would be the perfect fit but it would be a bit surprising to see the Astros move him. So, let's take a look at another star with a mock trade: Corey Seager of the Texas Rangers.

Red Sox Receive: INF Corey Seager

Rangers Receive: OF Jarren Duran, RHP Kyson Witherspoon, INF Mikey Romero

This past offseason, Seager was talked about as a trade candidate in large part because of the money attached to him. He has five years left on his 10-year, $325 million deal. For this mock trade, Boston would give up Duran, an elite pitching prospect and a former first-rounder in Romero.

Poll: Would you want to see this trade?
