The Texas Rangers are set to receive a major boost to their MLB lineup just in time for a critical weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians. After spending weeks without two of their most important offensive players, the Rangers are expected to activate shortstop Corey Seager and outfielder Wyatt Langford ahead of Friday’s matchup with Cleveland. The timing couldn’t be better for a Texas club that has started to build momentum and now faces one of the top teams in the American League.

Seager has been out of action for the last couple of weeks while dealing with back inflammation, leaving a noticeable hole in the middle of the Rangers lineup. The veteran shortstop remains one of the club’s most dangerous hitters and a key piece of their offense.

Langford’s absence has been even longer. The talented young outfielder has been sidelined since late April after suffering a forearm strain. His return gives Texas another athletic bat capable of impacting games both offensively and defensively.

Having both players back in the lineup should provide an immediate boost as the Rangers continue their push in the American League standings.

Roster Moves Follow Return News

To make room for Seager and Langford on the active roster, the Rangers are making a pair of corresponding moves.

Outfielder Alejandro Osuna and utility player Cody Freeman are expected to return to the minor leagues. While both players provided valuable depth during the injury absences, the organization is eager to get its regular starters back on the field.

The moves signal that Texas believes both Seager and Langford are ready to resume everyday roles.

The return of two impact players comes at an ideal time for the Rangers.

Texas enters the weekend having won five of its last six games, giving the club confidence heading into a challenging series against the AL Central-leading Guardians. Adding Seager and Langford to an already surging roster could make the Rangers an even tougher matchup.

With two cornerstone pieces returning and the team playing some of its best baseball in recent weeks, Texas appears poised to test itself against one of the American League’s top contenders.
