Mizzou has been on a roll securing its second Class of 2027 commit in a week by adding three-star offensive lineman Lual Aleu to give some protection to quarterback commit Braylen Warren and any future QB repping the black and gold.
The news came on Monday night, just three nights after 2027 safety Jabarri Lofton announced his decision. It was reported by Rivals, and later confirmed by Aleu on his X.

The three-star Cincinnati, Ohio, native is the highest ranked recruit that the Tigers have secured so far, per 247Sports. He’s the 13th ranked player in the state of Ohio, and the 40th in his position (OT). At Winton Woods High School, Lual has played three seasons with Varsity, helping the Warriors to three 8+ win seasons including a 10-2 season last year.

When watching film on Aleu, it was apparent that he has serious size, and also the abilty to find his target and prevent them from getting around. If the 6’5, 295 lbs. prospect can translate his game to Mizzou, he could be a big piece of the offensive line in the future. He also has one more year to continue developing in high school.
Aleu, Warren and Lofton are the first three member’s of Mizzou Football’s Class of 2027 but it’s officially that time and I’d guess a couple more flood in before the summer.
Where He Fits
Aleu is listed as an offensive tackle and on his film, also spent a lot of his time on the outside. Drinkwitz has moved players in the past, but with Cayden Green and Josh Atkins entering their last year of eligibility, there might be an opening at the tackle position in years to come. Either way, he likely fits in somewhere on the offensive line with his size and strength.
When He Plays
Just because of the position, I’d expect it to be a year or two before Aleu see’s the field for the Tigers. I’d expect a lot of this season’s freshmen to redshirt (maybe all of them except Johnnie Jones) so I could definitely see the same for Aleu next season. The offensive line is a hard position to transition into from high school to college and unless your the cream of the crop, it’s hard to see time as a freshman at a big school.
What It Means
Drinkwitz is yet to secure a four-star during this cycle but Aleu marks the highest rated three-star the team has added so far. It’s a solid start to add protection for Warren but it will take some time before we know how strong this class ends up being.
