Rayo Vallecano ‘not scared’ by Barcelona’s seven goals against Newcastle

Barcelona will return to action on Sunday in La Liga against Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas, with Hansi Flick’s side heading into the match after a huge victory over Newcastle in the Champions League.

The Catalans smashed seven goals past the Premier League side to book a quarter-final spot, but Isi Palazon says Rayo aren’t worried about Barca ahead of the match.

“I’m not scared that Barça scored seven, in the end it motivates us even more,” he told Cadena SER.

“We know they’re a top team in the world, but we already compete with them here in Vallecas, we do it every season and we’ll do it again on Sunday.”

Rayo have been tricky opponents for Barcelona recently. The Catalans have won only three of their last nine matches against them in La Liga and they are the opponent against whom they have dropped the most points against in games since the 2021-22 season
