ATTLEBORO— Raynham resident, Bishop Feehan senior pitcher and USA TODAY projected 2026 MLB Draft first round pickBrody Bumila made sure senior night was extra special for the Shamrocks on Friday, May 8.

The 6-foot-9 southpaw tossed his first full game of the season, a 7 inning no-hitter, giving up his first run of the season, which was unearned, while striking out a program single-game record 20 in a 5-1 win over Moses Brown (RI) at Beach Field in Attleboro.

The lone Quaker baserunner and run came via junior second baseman Will Haggerty, who was hit by Bumila in the first at-bat of the evening. Haggerty proceeded to steal second and third before coming home on a past ball to give the Providence-based school the early lead.

After that initial mistake, though, Bumila locked in for the Shamrocks and delivered his strongest performance of the season, sending down every other batter he faced by way of the K.

With that performance, the University of Texas commit broke a Shamrock record that stood for 60 years, surpassing 1966 graduate Mike Walsh's 19 strikeout record, with the former Feehan ace in attendance.

Bumila also contributed a run at the plate off a walk, while the Feehan offense was led by a pair of fellow seniors in first baseman Andrew Shute (3-for-4, double, run, 2 RBIs) and shortstop Owen Mordas (2-for-3, triple, run, 2 RBIs).

Bumila now sits at 69 strikeouts in 27 innings of work on the spring, surrendering just the lone unearned run. At the plate, he’s batting .286 (10-for-35) with a pair of doubles, a pair of home runs, 7 runs and 10 RBIs.

The Shamrocks (10-5), who are ranked No. 2 in Division 1 in the latest MIAA Power Rankings, officially qualified for the tournament with the win. Feehan returns to action on Monday, May 11, playing host to Middleboro with a 7 p.m. first pitch scheduled. A trip to Connecticut to face Putnam Science Academy follows on Wednesday, May 13 before the Shamrocks finish the week playing host to Mansfield on Friday, May 15, with both of those games also scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
