Sources are reporting that the Ravens have been giving out "feelers" to figure out his worth. Would he be someone to look at?

He is getting older and slowing down. And if we trade for him, he would want to re do his contract for more money. Which is why the Ravens are looking to trade him.

The question I raise is this....Would you trade an early second day pick for him?

Are you serious? One of the best LB's in recent NFL history for a 2nd day pick?

I'd take Ray in a second, i know he's had his share of bad moments off the field but on the field he's still very good, nobody in the NFL is more intense, and he'd be the perfect guy to mentor young players like Dansby, Wilson and Rolle just like he did with Ed Reed and Suggs in Baltimore. I don't believe for a minute they're going to trade him, but to be honest if he's healthy, I'd have to think about even offering the 10th pick for him. Not saying I'd definitely do it he's 30, but MLB is a position you can play at 34-35 years old.

It could be a Corey Dillion-situation and you could steal him with a 3rd round pick.

I am with Russ. That is a insta-fix situation for our run game. You take Ray Lewis with out a doubt.

He will be 31 when the season starts in his 11 season. He does have a lot of wear and tear on him. He probably has 3 more years left IMO. But we could make that a certianty and maybe even extend it by a year or 2 if we did bring in a wide bodY to keep blockers off of him as much as possible.

I wouldnt be willing to give up a 1st rounder, But I would be willing to give up our 2nd rounder straight up.

i'd have to wait until draft day so I know who's on the board, but I don't see a guy in the draft at 10 who's going to make that much impact as Lewis could.

Now if White is there, or somehow Hawk slips, or Mario Williams, I probably agree 2nd rounder, but if the guys we want are off the board I'd probably think long and hard about that deal.

I just don't believe it, today alone there's a thread about McAllister and Demps leaving, and now Lewis, who do they plan on playing defense this year? I can't buy they're going to franchise Jamal Lewis and let those 3 guys go instead.

I would only do a 1st rounder a high 1st I might add, if Baltimore sent us back a pick and/or a conditional pick in 2007, or something of that nature.

No matter what players are left at #10 I just dont think a player of Lewis contract obligation and age is worth that much. I dont know, my tune would probably change once we know what we get in FA.

He's gotta a bad rep among some fans but the truth of the matter is that he's a leader on and off the field. He'd do wonders for our D.

I gotta admit, I don't believe it though. In the last 24 hours we've heard that they're trying to unload bot McAllister and Lewis. Next thing you know someone weill be saing that Ed Reed is available for a kicker. So long Neil! ;)

We would be ABSOLUTE idiots to trade the 10th pick in the draft for a 31 yr old linebacker who is definitely on the downside of his career. I have been to EVERY home Ravens game the last 3 yrs & I have followed this team closely. He can no longer stay healthy & teams are running right at him with success. The fans in Baltimore know this guy is almost done & would laugh their a$$e$ off if some stupid team would offer their 1st round pick for him. I would be upset if we offered our 3rd round pick, let alone our 1st. Ray Lewis was a GREAT, GREAT LB & HOF'er to boot, but his career is almost over.

PA, we should meet up at a game sometime. I've been known to attend a Ravens game here and there. Maybe get a beer at pickles before the game.

Picking up Lewis (at 31 and with his best years behind him) for the money it would take (in his mind) or what Baltimore might consider equitable, is exactly the recipe for heading into dead money in later years= the beginnings of cap hell.

You just give him one of those big veteran deals where both sides know he'll never see the last couple of years of it. He gets the big bonus he's looking for, and you get a lower cap figure.
