The Texas Rangers added pitching depth to their minor league system on Monday night.

According to a report from Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, left-hander Marco Gonzales has signed a minor league deal with the Rangers.

Gonzales, 34, is a 10-year Major League veteran who last made an MLB appearance in 2024 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

One hundred and forty-eight of his 162 career starts came in a Seattle Mariners uniform, where he posted a 4.08 ERA across seven seasons.

"For the Rangers, there’s no real harm in bringing a veteran aboard on a minor league deal. Gonzales has a good track record, with a 4.16 ERA in 926 2/3 innings from 2014 to 2024," Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors wrote about Gonzales.

"His numbers this year haven’t been as good, but with some bad luck. It’s also possible he’s still finding his footing after missing an entire season."

Before signing with the Rangers, Gonzales made 13 appearances at Triple-A El Paso with the San Diego Padres.

His results there weren't pretty, as he allowed 42 earned runs and six home runs in 47.1 innings.
