Braden Schneider and the Rangers won't be heading to an arbitration hearing.
The two sides were able to come to terms on an agreement on a one-year extension Monday.
Schneider earns himself a pay raise, taking home an AAV of $5.5M.
The 24-year-old has seen his name floated around in trade rumors again this offseason, but the Blueshirts set a high asking price and have decided to hang on to him for now.
He's expected to again play a key role on their revamped defensive corps.
Schneider is coming off a bit of an up-and-down season production-wise, but he was a versatile piece and averaged the most ice time of his five-year NHL career (20:27).
He also finished just four shy of his best totals in blocked shots (141) and hits (163).
With just the one-year pact, Schneider will be a RFA again next summer, leaving his Rangers future uncertain.
