Nepotism is a real thing in the NFL. Avoiding those accusations is precisely why Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is letting his son spread his wings elsewhere. And recently, Jack Schneider worked his way into his first NFL role.

The younger Schneider is with the Miami Dolphins. On Monday, the Dolphins announced he was hired to the role of pro scout.

Schneider spent the previous four campaigns (2022-25) as a lead student personnel and recruiting assistant at Boise State University, where he evaluated prospects and assisted in recruiting efforts, according to the Dolphins' press release. Schneider was part of a successful Broncos program that won three straight Mountain West Conference championships (2023-25) and made an appearance in the College Football Playoff (2024) during his tenure.

John Schneider cut his teeth with the Green Bay Packers before becoming the Seahawks' GM in 2010. Interestingly enough, his son Jack Schneider now joins a Dolphins organization that is being led by Packers disciples in new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. The similar scouting principles could help Schneider acclimate to the NFL.

Perhaps Jack Schneider will one day join the Seahawks, but he's learning the trade in a familiar environment for now.
